The natural beauty of Potters Receptions
When Rachel and Kala decided to tie the knot, time was of the essence because this pair’s journey to their wedding day had not been without its challenges…
Kala first heard about Potters Receptions through a family member, and when he shared it with Rachel, she was “instantly captivated” by its natural beauty.
“We both fell in love with the beautiful Australian native natural grounds and the wisteria courtyard,” Rachel said.
“We are nature lovers who enjoy hiking in the forest and being outdoors. When I visited Potters, I became so excited and happy about the prospect of being married in such a beautiful space!”
With a little bit of help from the Potters team, Rachel and Kala planned their traditional Hindu wedding in just 5 weeks!
Timelines and Traditions
Rachel said due to this, they were careful to prioritise what aspects of their wedding were important to them, and to trust in their vendors.
“We absolutely loved how everything turned out, thanks to the talent and creativity of our vendors,
“The joy of wedding planning is definitely in not controlling everything,” she said.
A key part of the Hindu ceremony is a Mandap, a four-pillared structure with a canopy that serves as the altar for the ceremony.
Rachel said the view of the mandap, and the opportunity to soak in all the beauty of the day was something the couple won’t forget.
The children laughing, the colourful sarees, the breeze through the trees, the drops of sun through the wisteria, the smell of the incense,
“We felt alive and loved. That moment is engraved in our memories forever.”
Allowing time to enjoy the day
Rachel said that one crucial element that made the day so special was the decision to delegate responsibilities to family, friends, and the Potters team.
Delegating allowed the couple to step back, smile and simply enjoy their love for each other, without getting caught up in the details.
The couple’s team of talented vendors included Indian Wedding Decorators, who supplied the mandap and decor, and Hailey Page Flowers, who created the beautiful floral arrangements.
It honestly felt like a dream that we could get married in such a beautiful space,” Rachel said.
“The Potters team were outstanding in helping us plan the day, it made everything so much easier and smooth.
